Debbie is an abstract artist living in Yorkshire and has worked on a variety of projects in the UK. Debbie loves to create bold and bespoke statement pieces using heavy textures and metallics. She has developed her art using contemporary styles and her work exists in interior spaces and private collections throughout the UK and Europe.
Debbie always loved being creative but lost touch with her artwork when focusing on her career within Local Authority child protection teams. This all changed during the Covid-19 pandemic. While working in a high-pressure crisis role, Debbie began her very own art therapy as a method of self-care. Debbie began displaying her work on social media platforms such as Instagram and the response was incredible. Art by Debbie Kershaw has developed from there.
Debbie’s artistic work has developed over the years from studying fine art to expanding her collections in 2020. Favouring abstract expressionism, Debbie draws upon emotions through years of working within child protection teams.
CREATIVE INSPIRATION
Debbie hopes to take the observer on an emotive journey, to which an observer draws upon their own emotions, and each piece for interior spaces draws out tones and beauty within each room. Each artwork is created with diverse colour palettes using acrylic, emulsion and oil mediums.
Some of her work is predetermined through commissions and others spontaneous evolving gradually, sometimes over months. Each piece Debbie has lovingly created to add a statement or elegance to a room.
Debbie’s contemporary style varies from larger bold metallic pieces to softer neutral abstracts drawn from nature.

I can't thank you enough, it's absolutely beautiful. It arrived in perfect condition and when I was unwrapping it I just went "oh wow" when I saw it in full. It's so perfect for the lounge. We have ordered some special hooks so we can hang it up properly, so I'll share a photo when it's up.

Debbie is incredibly thoughtful and creative; I really enjoyed the process of discussing where the artwork would go and how we wanted it to feel in the space. I'm still not over how stunning this bespoke artwork is that the very talented @artby_dkershaw did for me last month. I'm obsessed with the detail and it makes me smile every time I walk into my dressing room. The consultation process was amazing… so much so that I have commissioned a couple more pieces from her to frame in my hallway and I am SO excited to see what she comes up with. She has started doing smaller Fabriano paper originals and after I heard this, those prints I was ordering came straight out of my basket! I've definitely given Debbie free reign on these new pieces as I 100% trust her vision. She knows exactly how my hallway looks and will blow me away, I'm sure. I just love the idea of having numerous bespoke art pieces in my home!! I can't wait to show everyone what she comes up with!
